HE HAD been in town for barely 24 hours and all the hype around Jeremy Wariner had nothing to do with the track.

The Olympic 400m champion's diet, more specifically his love of McDonalds and cheeseburgers, had been the talking point since his arrival on Wednesday.

Yesterday it was a Chinese banquet that took Wariner's fancy as he attended the John Landy Lunch Club to promote tomorrow night's Sydney Grand Prix.

While his eating habits may have raised eyebrows given there is not an ounce of fat on his wiry body, the third-fastest 400m runner in history was keen to talk up his prospects of breaking the world record at the Beijing Olympics.
