Winch slams UK Athletics over ChambersEurosport - Thu, 28 Feb 16:50:00 2008 Former UK Athletics vice-president Mike Winch has accused the governing body of incompetence and hypocrisy in their handling of the Dwain Chambers (pictured) affair. Winch, who stood down last week, believes UKA's whole approach to the situation amounts to bringing the sport into disrepute. UKA have been forced to include Chambers, who is returning from a two-year drugs ban, in the Great Britain squad for the World Indoor Championships in Valencia next weekend after he emphatically won the 60 metres at the trials. UKA had tried to keep the sprinter out of the trials and had repeatedly stated he would not be allowed to represent his country instead.
